UK Plant and Crop Phenotyping Infrastructure (UKPCPI) Scoping Project: survey for facilities

July 26 - September 13

Expression of Interest – Phenotyping Facilities BBSRC recently announced a 2-year £2.4M Infrastructure Scoping Project which aims to address the challenges of crop resilience and global food security through a national distributed infrastructure in plant and crop phenotyping. A key goal of this project is to assess the feasibility of a mechanism for national plant and crop phenotyping facility access. A community workshop will be held in September to consider the way forward in detail, but to inform that discussion…

NPEC Data: challenges & solutions – Online Zoom Webinar: 25th August 10am

August 25 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

NPEC Data: challenges & solutions The Netherlands Plant Eco-phenotyping Centre is a new research facility located in Utrecht and Wageningen (NL) (http://www.npec.nl). We collect, store and distribute phenotypic data from many different sources. These include drones flying over fields and high-resolution 3D imaging in the greenhouse. The opening of the Wageningen part of the facility is in September, with the open field, greenhouse and climate rooms fully operational. We are currently generating several terabytes of data each week, which will…

An example of a National infrastructure. Overcoming the plant phenotyping bottleneck by integrated approaches

August 26 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Free

Quantitative analysis of structure and function of plants has become the major bottleneck in basic research and applied use of plants. Significant interdisciplinary approaches have been started within the recent years on national and European level to establish research infrastructures able so support these aims. Specifically, it fosters research to quantitatively assess relevant traits under controlled and field conditions to understand the dynamic interactions between genetic constitution, molecular and biochemical processes with physiological responses leading to the development of…
