NPEC Data: challenges & solutions – Online Zoom Webinar: 25th August 10am

August 25, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Free

NPEC Data: challenges & solutions Webinar by Sven Warris; NPEC’s Data Module Leader.

The Netherlands Plant Eco-phenotyping Centre is a new research facility located in Utrecht and Wageningen (NL) (http://www.npec.nl). We collect, store and distribute phenotypic data from many different sources. These include drones flying over fields and high-resolution 3D imaging in the greenhouse. The opening of the Wageningen part of the facility is in September, with the open field, greenhouse and climate rooms fully operational. We are currently generating several terabytes of data each week, which will increase to terabytes per day soon. This means that we have to handle and store petabytes of data per year. In this webinar we will address some of the technological and organizational hurdles we faced and how we solved them. After the presentation there will be time for a extensive Q&A.

ONLINE ZOOM Webinar 25th August at 10am

NPEC facilitates state-of-the-art measurement of plant phenotypes to support research on genotype-phenotype associations. Establishing these associations is critical for the development of novel climate-proof crops and cropping systems. These novel crops and systems are necessary to secure our future high-quality food production, and improve the ecological sustainability of food production.
This webinar will disscuss the issues and possibilities around storing and sharing phenotyping data.
